  • 1.  Using Visual Logic to Switch Possession Icon (Football/Basketball)

    Was wondering if anyone could help out with creating visual logic that has a material "football icon" appear on one side of the score bug, while making the other "football icon" disappear on the other side and vice-versa when the other team has possession of the ball. I am using this for college football, but I know this same process can be used for basketball, so hopefully this will help out with anyone having issues in both sports. Dak Allsport is my Datalinq source (the value shown for Home Possession is "<" and Away is ">", and when Home Possession value is "<", the Away value is an empty cell. Thank ya

    You should be able to do an if text exist script on your scene and then that turns on an off viability for a quad. - So search the forums for if text exist and that will give you the scripting that you need. - I am sure you could do it in visual logic as well with the same premise.  Take both datalinq feeds into your Xpression scene and then have that text box return if anything exist and then that drives visibility of your icon.

    You can also just have a parameter in dashboard and click back and forth, but it seems that you probably want to automate it.

    You are using the "Equal To" logic from the Math section.

    Try using "String Compare" from the string section since you are using strings.

    Perfect! It worked, thank you for fixing that mistake! I switched it to String Compare and worked out! Hopefully this works for both those looking to use it for basketball possession switches as well!

    Here's one I did for basketball, but with a few modifications it should work on yours. You can have the home & guest indicators datalinq to ahidden text object for each one, and use the visual logic IsEmpty to give you a 1 or 0 value for each of them.  Then tie that 1 or 0 result to the visibility for the football icon.  In my vlogic I uploaded, the hpossess & vpossess are quads with the arrow on them.  Out of our daktronics we get h or v for possession, so I have the logic compare the two strings.  Hope that helps!
