I've been bashing my head against the wall trying to figure this one out.

I have a 5 second lower third video that animates on-off that I built outside Xpression.
I was hoping to: bring the video into Xpression, have the animation play through, pause at the middle to let score (from inside xpression) animate on, then animate off through activating on the sequencer. 

I've gotten far enough that the video plays fine through the sequencer - but the video either endlessly loops or wont pause. Scene Director doesn't seem to have any control of the actual video playback.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Did you drag the material onto the scene director timeline?

It should turn green when you do?
