  • 1.  VISCA script on Ross PTZ-NDI Camera

    Posted 11-20-2024 10:53

    Hello everyone,

I work in a project in which we want to implement a PTZ camera into a communication network. We want to implement an auto-tracking software, for example to track plains. We are thinking about buying a Ross PTZ-NDI camera, but since we don't have experience with PTZ cameras, we don't know how well a self written script will work on a PTZ camera. From my understanding it is possible to control the camera via the VISCA protocol.

The questions I now have are as follows:

    1)  Is it even possible to implement your own auto-tracking software, for the control of the Ross PTZ-NDI camera?

    2)  How fast does the camera react to the input of the script?

    3) How fast can commands be send successively to the camera?

Thanks for reading and I hope someone can answer my questions!

    Best regards

    Len

    Hi Lennart,

VisionAiry is the product solution offered by Ross for tracking.

Ross PTZ-NDI does support VISCA protocol.  Unfortunately, I cannot comment on the efficiency of a self-written script.
