The Benefit of Layeroff is that you don't specify the Take ID.. so you can make that a single CC event and you don't need to put Holds in your other custom controls that bring on the Graphic...
Same with the Resume it will resume the channel .. so if your using multiple layers just keep that in mind.

1. LAYEROFF & SEQO commands both trigger Out & Transition Logic Out Animations. The CLFB & CLRA (clear framebuffer and clear all) do not trigger out animations of any type.

I do have a couple follow up questions.
1. Does Layeroff trigger the transition logic for OUT or will it just cut the graphic offline?
2. Let's assume I decide to create all my Xpression graphics with multiple scene directors (this is probably best bc sometimes it will be necessary to have different animations for In and Out) and use transition logic for IN/OUT respectively, and I use a HOLD in the CCs. Then imagine the scenario that I take 1 graphic, "scoreboard", online and it is in the HOLD position, and I take a completely different graphic, "player1 super" on a different layer in by mistake. Now, both CCs are in the HOLD position. If I use Clearlayer to remove the "player1 super" then wouldn't I still have that CC in the HOLD position? What would I do? I could clear all CC, but that would then put my "scoreboard" CC out of step, bc it is already IN and the CC is not. Any thoughts?

Well as stated if you use the Layeroff command you can send it to any layer to run the layer offline.
If you also have it built with a Pause that resumes then you could use the RESUME command in a similar way.
Setting things up on a single scene director is perfectly fine.. and if you don't have the studio version and only have Prime you would not have Transition Logic available to build scene directors for IN and OUT that you then would be triggering via the assignments in the template transition logic..
I don't think there is a definitive "this is the way"... There are many ways and it will be based on your overall workflow and integrating what works best for you.

I've been rethinking what I'm doing around here, and maybe you can give some advice. We have a lot of graphics (coming from Xpression) that are triggered from our Vision switcher by CCs with a basic Rosstalk Take command. I believe the reason for that is because a lot of our graphics have been made with 1 single default scene director which has an animate in then pause then reverse to animate out, so the CCs are merely: TAKE; END. So you hit the CC and it takes the graphic online, animating it in, and then pausing. You hit the CC again and it continues the animation out, taking the graphic offline. Is this the best SOP to do this or is it better to have 2 different scene directors in Xpression for In and Out and make a CC that is something like: TAKE; HOLD; SEQO; END?

SEQO commands are the take offline command when you know the specific ID you want to remove.
LAYEROFF is best used when you have say a Lower Third or Full Screen template that you don't have the specific ID for and you want a generic button for removing Items on specific layers..

Hi all. Is there a RossTalk Xpression command to "Take Offline"? If not, is there a workaround? Thanks.
