The "web-generic" view is still tied to the now defunct Microsoft Internet Explorer Web View. Your best workaround would be to use an OGLML equipment type of "opengear-oglml" and provide an OGLML document with a <browser/> tag. It takes a few more steps but this will give you access to the modern system browsers on each OS or to specify the built-in Chromium browser.

It seems javascript is not being executed at all within the web-generic view of our devices web interface, and because of logic to hide the page before an init() javascript function is executed nothing but a blank page is shown. If I bypass that I can see a minimal html page and css styled elements, minus javascript functionality. Is javascript not supported in this case? Are there any other options to expose our web interface inside of dashboard for a particular device?
