  • 1.  Why are Touchdrive Preview Buttons White or Green?

    Posted 02-19-2025 11:49

Got a good question from one of my students that I would love your expertise on.  On our Touchdrive, the illuminated preview bus button will be white for some sources and green for others.  If we push a white preview button twice, then it turns green.  What is the purpose of this?  Is it trying to indicate something?  We have a Touchdrive TD2s connected to an Ultrix Carbonite.

Green Usually means there is a menu option for that crosspoint, depending on the switcher if you double press a source you may bring up the proc amp/color correction menu.

Yes White (or what ever colour you set in the personality menu for the Selected colour) is indicating that is the selected source on that bus.

Red -- ON AIR (you will also notice that OFF air "Active" Keyers/BKGD buses of MEs or MiniMEs will be white then turn Red when that ME goes to AIR)

Green is telling you that the Panel Menu with the Knobs is now assigned to that buttons additional controls.  Even with a DIS button the menu when it follows to the DIS menu will show green.

You also then get the Green Menu colour highlights as well.

Green = Panel Menu + Knobs association.
