  • 1.  Windows OS beyond Win 10 for Tria

    Hello, All.  Our IT department has mandated upgrades to Windows 11. Our Tria server runs on Windows 10. My research has led me to believe there is no upgrade path, and that Tria will not run on Windows 11. Does anyone have any information contrary to this? Is my Tria server just a boat anchor now?

    Hi Shane,

       Windows 11 is not supported at this point yet.  But you should be ok to upgrade to "Windows IoT Server 11 Enterprise LTSC" which will be supported in the future.

    FYI... Windows 10 currently on the server is a LTSC Enterprise version which has support until 2030ish. (10 years from the date of release)

    Tria servers run Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021, which is part of Microsoft's Long-Term Servicing Channel. This distribution is fully supported until January 2027, with extended security updates available until January 2032.
    There is no requirement to upgrade to Windows 11 for Tria servers. The LTSC version is specifically intended for embedded and specialized systems where stability and long-term support are critical.
