Hi all .. because the Xpression won't do a reveal as part of it's bag of tricks we're faking it with a 2 part animation with moving video
scene 1 (4 seconds in length) cube animates on using layer 2 to be on top of layer 1.
Scene 2 (1 second in length , Layer 1) the image switches underneath
Scene 3 (4 seconds long, Layer 2) a matching cube with the same material and video slides off to do a reveal.
Materials are built and videos assigned to the material in Layout.
we have the video set to Loop Auto start and free run.
works pretty much perfectly and is seamless.

We are doing the same thing in another project but we have published the materials so that we can swap the video out on the Sequencer side on the fly.  THAT isn't seamless.  The video keeps resetting creating a jump every time Scene 3 starts.
Exact same settings.  suggestions?  What am I missing?

When you say XPression doesn't do "reveals" what do you mean? 

Regarding the second question I guess the video is some kind of background or loop.
you most likely want these settings on.

The standard transitions in Xpression are Cut, Dissolve, and a  million pushes... there isn't a wipe or a reveal transition.. I've used those settings.. and they work just peachy on our original scenes but for some reason the video resets on the Scene 3 video scene. it's the same material in both scenes and the same video.

I see what you mean, usually you build your own reveals in XPression using keyframing and masks and things like that. I rarely use the standard transitions and much prefer to build my own.
