We generate lower 3rds on Xpression then export them out as .png where they are loaded into Carbonite. This makes the recall faster then using Rosstalk (which is our backup for last minute items).

When I export, all the .png file names are the same, the item name. This is less than ideal as I need to retype all that information. I'd like each .png file to be taken from the description field. (image attached)

    Is this possible?

    Thank you!

    What version are you on?

I am on version 12 and you can select to use Item Name instead of base name.

I'm on version 10 and I don't have that function. We are using Xpression that came free with the Carbonite (Xpression Designer 1.0 is the license). Am I eligable for that version?

    Danny,

Check with Tech Support (+1 (833) 859-0499  or  TechSupport@rossvideo.com) to see if your version of XPression Designer is eligible to upgrade to 12.0.

Question, do all new purchases of a carbonite come with an Xpression software? I understand it might be a limited software and i'm okay with that.

Our station purchase a new Carbonite Touch and New Xpression studio about a year ago. I would like to have a form of Xpression on my office computer, so I can design and test templates and I know the station won't buy a designers license, so this would be extremely helpful.

    Thank you.

    Alejandro,

You should have received with your Carbonite a Ross XPression box (about the size of a hardcover book) with a LiveCG license, including a blue USB dongle and a Ross USB that contains software and documentation. Live CG gives you the ability to install and run XPression Designer software.

Thank you, I did not know this. I will check our boxes that were given to us from the installation company.

Thank you, hope is there 🤞🏼

The improved Export to VIdeo/Images menu was added in XPression version 10.5. So if you are on version 10.0, you can upgrade to version 10.5 even if you do not have an active software maintenance contract. Tech Support can provide you with download links to v10.5.
