Update, I figured out the part where the text was not going behind the mask. I just re-did the mask for the scene directors and it worked. This is how i have the rules now. In this latest video I want the TOP RIGHT TEXT to animate in and out when the bottom text changes to a new item. It just dissolves now. When the scene changes....like when all the text are different, all the text animate in and out like they should. I just can't get the top right text to Animate in and out when the bottom text changes....I'm close but i having issues with the rules i think in the back to back. i don't know.

I did a duplicate of a scene that i did with your explanation of transition logic. In the new scene i added another text and i animated it.
Following your video instead of using both text in, I used three text in and went from there. I'm having an issue with my 3rd text animating in and out when i go back to back in the same scene. I added all the rules but I think I'm missing one. I pretty much followed your steps because it's working for my both text in scene.
I added pictures of my rules. also, the video shows that when the bottom text goes out and back in...the Top right item number should animate in and out but only dissolves. Then when I don't have the text at the botto...the top right text numbers animates in and out like I want. I've tried every single combination of back to back conditions and nothing. I'm sure I just have it backwards somewhere but cant figure it out.
Last thing, on my scene director for the item number out I have a mask and see it go behnd my mask, but when i play it out on the sequencer it doesn't go behind the mask. you can seee it when you look at the video. thank you for your help and patience with me.

Hi red, I added a scene director, an added a animation controller to my text. i see my text go in and out when i play it in the scene director but when i put the scene manager in the sequencer it does NOT play my text. Either make a scene director, add an animation controller and animate your text or add a stagger animation to the text object track in the scene director.

I'm sorry but I'm confused. What the video is showing and what you are saying are different. I've attached a video below. I want to keep the same scene but just the text go in and out...not the animation. I'm following the video but when I get to the transition logic and add rule for back to back I get lost. I'm trying to add my text to the scene director so then I can get the option in the back to back but I don't know how. Also, I've attached pics of what I have done if it helps.

I inserted a video in 2 different scene directors and I have it working correctly for a lower third. I when i double click the take item my lower third animates in and pauses. when i click another take id.. it animates out and new id animates in. I want to add text to my lower third. I want the lower third to animate IN to see our agenda items and stay there and not animate out. I want it to animate out when i call up another agenda item.
So it will animate in...pause...animate out when another id is called and new lower third comes in and pauses until next ID.
