  • 1.  XPression Video Codec 2 on Mac

    Posted 20 days ago

    Hi All!

I had a question regarding the Xpression Video Codec 2. I am editing video on a Mac, but all the clips are encoded with XPVC2. Is there a codec available for the Mac, so that I can read the clips in After Effects or Premiere? Or is there a possible workaround, so that I can convert the clips to a format I can use?

Re-rendering the source project files in a different format is not possible in this instance. I need a way to either work with them on my system or to convert them into a format I can use.

Any advice from the Ross community would be much appreciated, thanks!

    Brendan,

There is no Mac equivilent for the XPression Video Codec. The R&D team is WIndows-centric, and their focus is on the real-time motion graphics engine, XPression. Is it possible for the person who gave you these clips to export them into another format? Or can they use Adobe Media Encoder (on Windows) to drop them into a folder which can encode them into a format which you can use on your Mac?
