  • 1.  Xpressions machine running Lucid taking 15 hours to boot Windows

    Lucid is freezing, requiring a restart.  When this happens it is taking up to 15 hours to reboot.  This has happened on several engines.  Is there a known bug?

    Wow... 15h... That's mad....  I would think it is something in Windows causing the problem as Lucid is not involved in Windows boot process.  You can try renaming the Lucid (Track?) folder and see if the problem still occur.

    Hi Stephen,

    Sorry not to be more helpful, but I can only say we have multiple systems running Lucid Studio (even a VM) and over a dozen of systems running Lucid Track, all of them also having an edition if XPression installed, but we have never seen this behavour. We do see that launching Lucid Studio/Track through an RDP-connection will take about 5 minutes instead of about 1 minute, but that's it (and might be explained since Lucid needs to use software OpenGL instead of hardware OpenGL through the GPU).

    Have you tried on a system with no other software installed? You could even do that in a VM. What versions of Ross software are you using? Any other software installed on the system? What kind of hardware are you using?

    Thanks, Gerard.  We are running Xpression Studio SCE10.5_509 and Lucid 6.0.2280.  We also have some Studio 2 channel 10.5_5509 and Bluebox 10.2_5509.
    When rebooted we get a spinning wheel on the login screen.  We are in the process of reloading Windows and will then reload all software, testing at each step.

    Hi Stephen,

    Was hoping to see some old versions in your response, but that's not the case so the only thing I can think of now it to do what you're already doing: do a bare minimum install, install/test Licid and, if that work, keep adding the other applications you need on the system until it breaks (or not).

    You can also contact Tech Support from Ross.

    I  am curious what causes this, so please share if you find out.
