Dashboard Drawer Control

Recently, I modified a custom panel designed by our integrator to include additional presets and to arrange the widgets and tools in a more logical layout. All has been working well and gives us better control. We are currently using 5 cameras in our church worship space: 3 PivotCams, an additional “manned” camera.and another video camera mounted in the back corner of the room on a tripod to use as a cutaway or establishing shot. That last camera is connected to our network and, while we don’t have an operator at the camera, we can control zoom via a browser interface to get different shots. One of our TDs said it was a little cumbersome to keep toggling back and from to and from the browser to make those changes and asked if I could incorporate the control within Dashboard. I thought I could accomplish that by putting a web browser frame in a drawer on the panel. The panel is shown below, the drawer opens from the left and is labeled ‘5’ with a camera icon:

The problem I have, however, is that while the drawer and the browser control in it functions as expected, none of my other existing controls operate anymore except for those that are outside the bounds of the drawer. The drawer opens from left to right almost 2/3 of the width of the panel and any widgets or controls that are behind the boundaries of the drawer, even when closed as in the image above. What am I doing wrong? I’m including the code from the panel in the text attachment.

Hey gang-
HELP! Wondering if anyone is able to help me get my drawer to be operational? As I mentioned in the previous post, as soon as I added the drawer, none of the controls underneath it on the panel work anymore whether the drawer is open or closed. I thought perhaps that no one noticed that I included the code in a separate file so I’m pasting it here in this post. I don’t know if iy makes a difference but the main part of the panel was built first and the drawer was added last (as an afterthought) so you’ll see the code for the drawer at the very end of the code. Not sure it that makes a difference. By the way, the web browser page on the drawer does work when it’s open.

Here’s the code:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

Hi Steve
The problem you are having is because the components underneath the drawer still need to be inside of the control itself. The drawer container has space for a central component (you would typically fill it with an ) and the drawers that are pinned top/left/bottom/right slide over top of of that central component.
If you restructure your panel to move the controls that are under the drawer (I can’t see yours as I do not have your devices in my setup) inside of an anchored to “center” they will become accessible:

Hope this helps

James

Hi Steve,

You can find step-by-step instructions on how to use drawers in the DashBoard User Guide under Basic Components > Drawers. I’ve also attached a tips document for reference. I hope that helps, but if you have any questions after looking through these resources please let me know!

Regards,

Kayla

Hi Kayla,

Is there an archive of the Tip of the Week documents?

Hey James-I finally got a chance to make the changes that you offered to my code and it now works the way I expected it to. Thanks so much for your help!
