i have a drop downbutton in dashboard which call image path text as well to change image according to text . i have that text animation fade off and fade in in xpression while the text change in dashboard. now i want the image to change as the text alpha hit 25 of opacity.
i dont have idea in scripting but good in visual logic . but i couldn’t find any connection in quad to connect image link in visual logic. i have hundreds of quad so i dont want to change in materials . is there any possible someone help on it.
hello Thank you for you reply , but i want datalinq to link up with faces and not with materials , so i can change over dashboard dropdown . as i change it in dashboard i want to delay the change in xpression by 20 frame . i want to play transition before changing the image .
oh I would link a text object to the datalinq field you want and then just use dynamic material then.
sorry for this also because iam using 8.5 xpression and idont have dynamic material , but its ok for now i solve it by visual logic, i just make dummy image which is link with datalink now i can get this image face in visual logic. and make some condition in visual logic which is basically if alpha is equal to 25 then use this datalinq face otherwise use original one .

ok sounds good, the script you are looking for would be something like;

or to use a material something like;
dim box as xpBaseObject
dim mat as xpMaterial
Scene.GetObjectByName(“Quad1”, box)
engine.GetMaterialByName(“blue”, mat)
box.SetMaterial(0, mat)
