How many simple 2d, sized, cropped, positioned pip boxes can I have total at one time on a 4 keyer full MLE?
The answer is – it depends…
Vision Octane has 2 frames a 3RU and a 8RU …
In the 3RU frame there can be a Maximum of 4 DVE channel accessible to ME 1/ 2 and then another 4 DVE ME 3/4 …
In the 8RU they ME Pairs have access for UP TO 8 channels of DVE if they are all populated…
Each Keyer can do a 2 Box using the PST Key Type and then using the channel management to enable the second channel. OR the quick way is to HOLD DOWN the PST PATT key and then press the FLY Key button to turn it on and off.. Then you have the menu to toggle between channels…
So in the Large frame you could accomplish 8 DVE boxes in a single ME using all 4 keyers and all 8 DVE.
Also Vision has only 3D DVEs … Acuity introduced the 2D DVEs in the MEs.
Ok, so it depends on the number of S&T MD cards installed on the Carrier Board, right?
I have an 8RU with 4 MLEs, 2 S&T Carrier Boards, and I’m not sure how many cards.
But if I had 4 cards on each board, that would be 8 channels per MLE pair and I could do what you described.
Or I could do 8 boxes, whatever combo that totaled 8 for the 2 MLEs in a pair.
And thats 3D because the 2D mentioned below is for the 480AR-043 board that I don’t have in my frame.
Correct .. the Cards are 3D DVE with XYZ Rotation and you can move them in 2D only space… but they are 3D DVEs.
8 Total channels as you have described but only if there are the 4 cards on that carrier. Not all systems were purchased with all DVE options…
