Hi There,

There a few things you can do here.  first; move your in and out Reveals to the TOPIC IN Scene Director.  This will give you just a swoop of color to reveal the new text.  In this Scene Director, you will want to reveal your text on under the orange swoop.  Finally, you will want to start with the blue backer not visible, and then at the end of the animation, turn it on.  



For the TOPIC OUT, the blue bar visibility is on (keyframed) and you are fading on the text.  



You will also want to add a kye to the BAR IN & BAR OUT that will keep the blue bar on.
