I am running Vision 12.1a and Overdrive version 9.3.0. I followed the instruction which I have pasted below to put video in my aux send 1:1. The issue I am having, is that when the template in Overdrive is prepared it cues up the aux1:1 before it goes on air. How can I get the template to only change when it is put to on air in the aux 1:1?

These are the instructions I followed.

I'm going to walk you through the steps of setting this up for 1 camera monitor scenario. I'm going to say it's for Camera 1, and the monitor is called the "B Monitor." Also, it's important to make sure one of your MLE clean feeds is set-up with everything before Key 2.

Build 2 Custom Controls (1 routes MLE1 Clean Feed into B Monitor, and the other routes MLE2 Clean Feed into B Monitor)

Build a Vision global memory that has Camera 1 into Key 2, and Key 2 is keyed ON.

After saving the global memory to all 3 MLEs, press Attributes on Global Memory section of the Vision.

On the Vision screen, push Custom Controls at the bottom of the screen. Select MLE1, find the MLE1 Clean Feed Custom Control that you had created, and push AutoRun. Then, select MLE2, find the MLE2 Clean Feed custom control that you had created, and then again select AutoRun. (What you're doing is telling the switcher to automatically route the clean feed of MLE1 if that is on the air, or route the clean feed of MLE2 if that's on the air).

Now, again save this global memory to all 3 MLEs. I would just overwrite the previous memory you created.

Open the Overdrive Template editor, and create a new template.

On the MLE tab, enter the memory number in that we just created.

Add Bkg...this will be your Nexio device.

Add Key2...this will be Camera 1 in this scenario.

Add the audio sources that you would normally add...and any other custom controls that you need.

    Save and test!

    Hi John,

You are at WHSV in Harrisonburg, VA correct? If so I was your trainer and I believe I gave you the instructions on setting this up. Are you using this template back-to-back? If you are, then what you're seeing is normal. The custom control will trigger when the memory is recalled on the switcher, which automatically switches the clean feed of the corresponding MLE into aux 1:1.

As I understood before, you were not planning to use this back-to-back. If you are, then I would suggest inserting a "dummy" templates between the two monitor feed templates, and "double-punch" when you are ready to advance to the next monitor feed template.

To create a dummy template, make an "audio only" template (the perimeters in MLES and Buses will be frayed out, so nothing will happen on the switcher). Set it to "video only" transition with no audio channels coded. Essentially this template does absolutely nothing, except it serves as a spacer between the two monitor feed templates.

Let us know if you need any further help with this. -Ian
