  • 1.  Changing 'Fixed' Squeeze and Tease to 'Floating'

    Posted 02-20-2014 21:55
We are using Ross Switcher Version 10.1 q MD and, OverDrive Version 8.11.4665. I have been charged with the task of building a 6 box and and 8 box...yippie! I know that we do have 2 Squeeze and Tease Carrier boards, and 8 Squeeze and Tease DVE channel resources. The problem is that the Squeeze and Tease Personality on the switcher is currently set to "Fixed", and I can't seem to get it to change to "Floating". When I attempt to change it to floating, I get an error message that says I can't make that change while OverDrive is running. We turned off the OverDrive server and still got the same error message. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong, or suggestions on how I can change our set up to "Floating" Squeeze and Tease? Thanks!

    Amy,

In the Personality menu, when you have "OverDrive" selected, the options below should gray out (as in lock out mode), and when you dial away from OverDrive, the options should reappear. Did you turn off Editor Enabled? (Home/More/Remote Enables/Editor set to "off")

Thanks for the reply, Ian! I don't see anywhere on the Personality menu where I could have "OverDrive" selected....maybe I'm looking at the wrong thing. And the Editor IS Enabled.

    Hi Amy,

I'm late to the party here, so sorry. Overdrive DVE handling is permanently "fixed" in your version of software. The original intent was to avoid having users "run out of resources" between shots. In very recent editions (I believe v12 of Overdrive and v16 of the switcher, but I'd need to check) we've relaxed that restriction and give you all the power burn yourself. :)

    Hope that helps, albeit late.

    Chris
