Hello,
In order to automate audio, there are a few pre-requisites. (Are you using a Vision?)
- You'll need to have the audio control interface licensed on the switcher in order to have control of the mixer.
- You might need additional licenses on your audio mixer to enable the control (depending on the mixer)
You'll need to determine if you'll be automating all shows, or just some of them... because you will want different setups or templates depending on the use.
Once that is done, we usually recommend some training. The basic modules covered for audio:
- AFV (Audio Follow Video) and the rules around that
- Additional Audio
- Custom Controls
- DirectControl Audio (PVW, PGM, QuickPicks, Setting Levels)
- Video Only Transitions
- Tips and Tricks
- Rehearsals
- Launch
We've also introduced some new features in versions since 12 that allow for this to be done easier.
We have added the ability create "shots" and store more templates. This allows you to pre-code all your variations of the templates for quick drag-and-drop of your coding elements. We have also added QuickAudio which allows you to quickly add audio channels to a story by typing a keyword into an NRCS column (currently only supported in Inception, ENPS and iNEWS)
If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to email me.
Thanks!!
