Overdrive 10.0.5, 3mle Vision Swithcer 14.1, Yamaha DM1000 audio board

We're working on an effect that uses 3 squeeze/tease dve channels for triple boxes. To do this, we have a custom control that turns off Editor in Remote Enables and then changes squeeze and tease settings to floating to recall a single mle effect with 3 squeeze and tease keys. The effect/custom control work fine, however as soon as editor is turned off in Remote Enables any audio channels that were up instantly turn off. Does anybody know a way to avoid this? Or a different way to squeeze down 3 sources on a single mle?

    Thanks

    Hi Ryan,

There was a change to the Personality menu that allows the DVE (S&T) float function to remain on, even when the OverDrve editor is turned on. In earlier software versions, turning on the editor would disable the floating. I thought this was part of V14 vision software. It's possible it didn't come in until V15?? The easiest way to confirm this is to to turn the editor off, turn on the personality float function, turn the editor back on and then go back to the personality function to see if in fact the functionality it on or off.

IF it does turn off, my first thought would be to upgrade the vision software. Our tech support can assist with that.

If upgrading software is not an option, I'd like to suggest something else you might try.

Load the show into the rundown control, press PLAY RUNDOWN which will put the first event into preview. Now, turn the editor off, then on. Play out a few templates with cameras/servers etc that include audio, then cue and play the CC that you're building to create the 3 box. Does the on-air audio still drop off?

Resetting the audio has been a part of the editor going on/off. However, I've noticed that it will do this only once per loaded show. If the effect cues up fine after doing the test, I'd suggest you build a custom control that you trigger prior to going on it. It could do all sorts of things like pre-assigning aux feeds, cueing audio clips, still store animation etc As well, you could include turning the editor on/off.

    Thanks for the response Ric.

The Personality change must be for V15, because once I turn the editor back on it reverts to fixed.

I also tried your other suggestion. The audio is still cutting out every time the editor is turned off even within one loaded show.

So I guess I should see about V15 to make this work.

Is it safe to assume this is with a Yamaha audio mixer?
