I'll try to keep this short and sweet. We have a Ross Switcher, OverDrive, OPUS, VIZRT Graphics system and TONS video. The art department has created a VIZ template that has a box that rotates to feed sources into, only taking the VIZ channel to air. One problem with this is that TONS does not auto-roll video when run thru the VIZ, only when it is seen as 'on-air' thru the switcher. The other problem is that there are 4 "boxes" in this effect for different sources, but we only have 2 video cards, so only 2 sources at a time can be assigned going into the VIZ.
I am trying to figure out a way to build these custom controls and templates to make them as easy as possible to code and run for the directors...but it is proving to be quite challenging. I was thinking of keying the VIZ channel over and MLE and using the keyers to assign the sources and help trigger the auto-roll, but I'm not sure what to source to send to the VIZ boxes to make this work properly. (The VIZ outputs are on our AuxPanel, being fed just like a studio monitor) Is it best to just build a bunch or Custom Controls that assign sources to those outputs one at a time, that also have a trigger on them to run the VIZ and roll a TONS.....I feel like I keep coming close on this but am just missing something.....
Thanks for any and ALL ideas!
