We are looking for a solution to live streaming breakways. We live stream newscasts and was wondering if there was a way in inews or in overdrive to trigger a command to breakaway and not show certain videos on our live stream. My first thought was to attach a GPI custom to that video when coding. We were just wondering if there was a better way out there.

You could feed the streamer with an AuxBus and then switch from PGM on the Aux to another source or feed. That way you can code that in as a template in the rundown.

We have done that. We are looking for a more automatic way. I have heard someone mention in the past that there is a way to add somekind of break away in inews or a like system when the script is written. Anyone heard of that type of break away?

We do offer an interface called "QuickTurn" that lets the script editor tag material for web publishing in the newsroom and use OverDrive to drive the media encoder to record/pause in real time during the broadcast. Typically, this is used to segment a newscast into stories rather than run a full live stream.

What type of encoder are you using?
