At my station we have been having mysterious missing video, we will send the video to a play out folder on a Nexio Server and be able to see it there but Overdrive is not seeing it half the time. It sometimes shows a red exclamation mark (red and white exclamation mark) symbol, and sometimes it shows a yellow & black exclamation mark symbol. What is the difference between the two different colored symbols?

    Hi Adam,

When you try to cue the clip(s) in question, do you see a pop up dialogue on the switcher's touchscreen that says "Clip ID Not Found?"

The yellow triangle, depending on what message it's giving you, indicate either a missing clip, or an invalid clip. Missing clip suggests that the clip is not in the Nexio's database. An invalid clip could be caused by either an invalid format that is not playable by Nexio. Invalid clip could also mean that the file name is there, but there's no actual clip attached to the clip ID, such as the case with editors pre-naming the clips as placeholders, but the actual clip has not been edited yet.

The Red Octagon usually means the device lost communication with the switcher, or is busy.

We don't have an octagon shaped symbol appear.

It does say clip ID not found sometimes on the switcher's touch screen. The exclamation mark on the touch screen is a yellowish orange triangle with a black !. The one we see for the same clip on the rundown control is a white circle with a red outline and a red !.

Sometimes we get a yellow triangle with a black ! on the rundown control however it has usually been when they haven't assigned a video ID number or even put the clip on the play out folder. I have sat here and watched this one flash the red and white ! (mentioned earlier) at us before just as we prep a video to go to air. We have been manually prepping video (if time allows) to make sure its there as Overdrive Rundown Control has not flashed ! (red one) symbols at us for video until we manually prep it. Otherwise it shows no symbol (half the time roughly) at all in the conflict column for said clip until we prep it.

I should add this regarding the "It does say clip ID not found sometimes on the switcher's touch screen." that I said. We don't always watch the touch screen because we rely on rundown control heavily. It could be popping up the ! at us on the touch screen but we wouldn't notice it all the time because we are mainly looking at rundown control.

Are you able to manually play out the offending Nexio clip(s) with the internal Harris NXOS control panel software? Is there a valid Nexio's SDI source at your router? There is usually a shortcut to NXOS on the desktop of your Nexio's Windows OS.
