My station will soon be switching to XPression, and while we have commissioning/training coming up shortly (which will also answer this question), we were curious about one feature in our preparations.

When looking up the XPression NRCS plugin (in those awesome YouTube clips), we noticed there are fields for "In Point" and "Duration". Do these fields trigger the XPression commands in our OverDrive rundown, essentially automating when the graphics are inserted and removed (without the OverDrive operator actually "taking" the command?) Or do these times show up on the graphic command in the OverDrive rundown for our reference?

Yes, you can utilize the timing fields in XPression to do automated cg playout, depending on your version of Overdrive. Your trainer will be able to cover this functionality should you choose to implement it. Operators can choose to cancel the timing across the rundown, per item, per story, and so forth. Timing can even be used in Overdrive templates and shots to manage extremely busy rundown components like opens and teases. Always weigh these automation options carefully. Striking the balance between manual and automation is essential to operating any automation system effectively.
