Production Workflow

So we are getting ready to launch a new graphics package for election night and everything is working well but one small detail. I cannot figure how to get overdrive to take a CG item offline so it animates out and runs all the transition logic to animate the CG item out. It seems the take out command in overdrive is the equal to clear layer in xpression which is not what I want. We are currently running xpression v8.0 and an old version of overdrive that is on v12 with a vision switcher that is running software from the same time frame of about 5 years ago. I do have software upgrade on my desk for the switcher but that is probably a couple of years old at this point as well. Basically I'm I missing something or has xpression advanced beyond my switcher and software capabilities and I need to update?

You either wait to upgrade to a version of the switcher that supports RossTalk "Type In" commands - and then use the RossTalk "LayerOff" command to trigger the out animation of your XPression graphics...
Or...
Create your XPression graphics to have a pause, the out transition, and a Take Offline event. The graphic will go online, Pause, and then the swticher will Resume the graphic (a second play command), and then the graphics transitions off.
