Production Workflow

I am trying to get Overdrive to play an animated transition using a custom control.
It will key an animation over and advance the overdrive rundown using the function where i designate the custom control transition on the overdrive shot.
My space bar currently runs the transition that is tied to the prepared shot - this works for everything other than my CC transitions.

I have tried 2 ways to make the CC operate:

Keys on DSK 4
Plays the animation
Keys of DSK 4

Keys on DSK 4
P[FONT=Calibri]lays the animation
Overdrive Command - advance rundown
Keys of DSK 4

Each time when the space bar runs the CC transition attached to the shot - it has a time out error (picture included) and does not advance the overdrive rundown.
The animation runs and the key cuts on and off though.

Help!

what system are you on? Vision/Acuity/Caprica? What version?

My guess is you need to change the Overdrive command to be a cut or auto transition on the switcher not an Overdrive command to transition.

It seems like you need to increase the Timeout of the CC Transition. This is done in the Transition tab in Template Editor. Try increasing the time by 100.

We are on Version 15.8.7 of Overdrive on a Vision 3MLE switcher
- I have tried replacing the Overdrive command to transition with a cut on the program MLE but it still doesnt advance the Overdrive rundown.
-I have tried increasing the CC timeout - the CC runs through and then everything sits for a while and then it comes up with the timeout error box still

Hi Snowhockey, I'm assuming the custom controls included the proper amount of pauses, one for running the animation to cover the screen enough to do your under cut, and one to run the rest of the animation?

Have you reloaded the custom controls after this was created? Go Rundown Control, Tools, Reload Custom Controls. Then try it again.
