Software Updates

  • Robotics Firmware Version 7.4a

    What’s New

    • Support for X650 PT Heads

    • Support for new FRUs

    • Support for new Faulhaber motor controller for X350

    Notable Bugs Addressed

    • X350 pan and tilt axes could exceed temporary limits at low joystick speeds, and

the on-screen axis bar did not always indicate the limit correctly. Limit handling

has been updated so X300/X350 axes now stop cleanly at all

configured/temporary limits while still allowing motion back inside limits,

improving safety and visual feedback. (RSW-484)

    • Using OverDrive to run a move on a Furio dolly where the first keyframe was not

at time 0 and the cue failed to reach the desired position on the track due to the

presence of another dolly would cause the dolly to overrun its final position by an

amount equal to the offset from the start position. This problem has now been

resolved and the move will end at the expected final position. (RSW-565)

    • Fixed an issue that was causing stuttering with a Canon CJ IASE S lens due to

threading issues. Switching to asynchronous logging and increasing the priority of

lens communications ensures that lens updates always happen in a timely

manner. For all robots except Artimo and X650, logging should be set to

Warning or Error level for production use to avoid any impact on lens

    communication. (RSW-520)

  • SmartShell 8.1a Released!

    What’s New

    • SmartShell Configurator:

This release adds the ability to upload a studio map and see a live view of the

location of XY peds that have been added to a studio or show. PT heads, PTZ

cameras, or pedestal cameras can be positioned on the map to reflect their

location in the studio and see pan orientation updated in real time. A lidar

map can be uploaded and see as a layer in a studio map. Visualization of map

elements can be toggled, the map can be resized, and the base units can be

changed. Tracking data is obtained by polling the robots or listening to the

    FreeD data stream.

    • GrassValley Native protocol support has been added to the Routing Server

    • Thumbnail Service – Add configuration option to auto-detect video format for

    BlackMagic video capture cards

  • Artimo 7.2e Released!

Introducing 7.2e, Robotics firmware for Artimo only with support for lidar collision avoidance. Artimo's lidars can now be used to detect obstacles in its path and come to a stop before a collision occurs.
