  • 1.  Datalinq & MOS Plugin

Posted about this some time ago, but I've done more troubleshooting since then. Still stuck.
I have an XPression scene that uses DataLinq to make a dropbox of Talent Names from an Excel file. Then it uses Columns to assign matching contact info. On the Studio machine, dropping the scene into Sequencer, it works correctly. Using the MOS Plugin through the newsroom software (Octopus), it returns the error "Failed to Load DataLinq source."

I have checked and re-checked, going so far as to take out all links from the DataLinq Server and start over. Everything points to the IP of the DataLinq Server on the Gateway machine. The Project, scene... everything I can find. All show connected and can read the file at all points along the line... except the MOS Plugin. Then it just fails.

We had the exact same problem today. I don't know if you ever found a solution as there are no responses. We found the answer in the MOS Gateway configuration. I had assumed that it would follow the project file, but it has its own config for DataLinq. It was pointing to the Studio CG box's DataLinq instead of the DataLinq running on the Gateway computer, and I had intentionally shut down the CG's DataLink server. Newsroom didn't report the missing drop-down list of names until the next day. We just changed the IP address and it immediately fixed it. No need to restart the Gateway.
