Production Workflow

Let me first absolve myself and say I had nothing to do with this plan. I'm walking into the situation. LOL. I'll try to keep this simple and conceptual since I'm fairly new to XPression; I mostly want to figure out if anyone is doing this/if it's doable, then I'll know it's worth exploring the how. 

Our news stations put in Newsmaker and Tricasters last year. Now we are adding XPression systems to handle some of the graphics that are locking up Newsmaker. 

XPression currently lives outside of the Newsmaker automation. That is causing directors to struggle to punch clean shows because they have to hit multiple buttons at once in a some cases. Has anyone connected Newsmaker to an XPression or something similar for automation? It seems like it's possible using GPI, but to be honest, the engineers there are very skeptical and everyone is so nervous about changing anything, I can't test anything until I can show a workflow with "sources" to justify letting me touch it.

I can confirm the operation of sending GPI calls over IP to BlueBox to trigger events.

I have used Putty with a raw connection to the server and manually typed in GPI <command> for testing.

You do have to setup the GPI definitions on the server in order for it to work.
