Thank you Simon.
I needed confirmation that this method of live updating using data from dropdown lists wouldn't work.
It's a shame, because it would be an extremely efficient solution in the scenarios I envisioned.
If you had a moment to watch my demo video, you might agree.
I'll probably have to choose the datalinq server method of updating data in an Excel spreadsheet. I wanted to avoid this to stay solely within the Xpression app interface and save time, which is already scarce in certain situations.
Could you please provide links to dashboard tutorials on selecting players from lists by jersey number without having to manually enter a player's data? I've only found basic tutorials myself.
For me, even fractions of a second count when it comes to reaction time during broadcasts.
I only use the dashboard application to track full match statistics (ball possession, shots, offsides, number of passes, cards, etc.).
Generally, the solutions I've implemented work reliably without the dashboard for match events, but I'd be happy to improve it if it warrants better performance during live play.
I'm sending you a short video demo:
I'd like to revisit the questions from this thread:
I'm attaching a short video where I'd like to implement the solution you mentioned:
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I also remembered another option called Data Pages.

Hey Tom,
I can't watch the video right now as I'm traveling with poor data but I understand what you mean. The input controls are not designed to be used while the scene is online.
You can used widget drop-down list like this.

Or you can use external data such as dashboard.
If you change the data in the template data entry in the sequence and take the item again it will force an update but it won't animate.
The normal workflow method is to duplicate the item in the seqence list and then have transiton or transition logic of some kind.

Thank you, but I don't quite understand what widget you're referring to.
I don't think this solution will suit my needs.
Am I to understand that dropdown lists cannot be used in live data updates?
I'm sending a short video that illustrates the scenario I'm talking about.

I would use a widget for that instead if you want it all contained inside XPression.

Hi,
Is it possible to make the data selected from Xpression dropdown lists (list boxes, combo boxes, radio buttons, checkboxes) refresh when the live output changes? Currently, the data only refreshes in the preview window; the live output remains unchanged during the broadcast.

(Sequencer View)

The database is created in an Excel spreadsheet and managed by the selected DataLinq option.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
