You could do this almost without scripting. Just separate the quads onto their own scenes. When you take the background use scripting to call the quads then pause the quads on the default state. Create your animation to go from the default to your eliminated state then place another pause. When you want ...

Found your issue. Disable the auto start on the video material manager. To do this open your material manager, right click the video and select edit. Then select the video tab under the Layer 1 and in the section labeled "Run Mode" uncheck the option for auto start. Make sure you drag the clip back into ...

The behavior will be different when you take the scene. You still assign the video to the quad but you also place the video on the scene director. Take the scene and it should work. #XPression

Open your scene director for the scene you are working on and drag your avi from the materials manager onto your scene director. Other wise the video will just free play, this should make it so that the video plays based on the scene director instead. #XPression

You can set the play range in the sequencer for individual clips. Alternatively, you can do this with scripting by directing the scene director to a point through the scene.senedirector.Position method but this is much more difficult than it needs to be. Either way you need to make sure the clip is in ...

If you need to edit text still why not remake the powerpoints inside of Xpression itself? Any thing else is likely going to over complicate the issue. It would probably be better to just go around the Xpression and use some sort of scan converter to key over it on your switcher if you want to incorporate ...

Brian, since you brought up render views, is their a way to do datalinqing by for a render view in the scene that is calling it? I have multiple renderviews in a single scene and only need to change a sponsorship logo in the renderview. Currently I have to make a new renderview per logo bu would like ...

Steve, you can create a scene of different resolutions but at one point or another it will be squeezed down to two 1920 x 1080 outputs (or whatever your hardware is set too) unless you are using a virtual window but there you would lose a lot of the render capabilities on the hardware. I have a screen ...

Dashboard does not support the use of excels. It does take in XML files though, as does Xpression. Renaming the buttons is relatively simple once you get the texts, it is accomplished through the use of the ogscript.rename('[id]', '[name]') method. id is the text you put into the id of the button or ...

In Xpression you can use Visual Logic to strip off the last character. You would still put out all 3 Digits in Dashboard but in the end you would only display the ones you want #DashBoard

This is a fantastic application for dashboard if you would like to make a scene that is easy to change around like that controllable by someone who does not have a desire or need to really learn how to work Xpression. Instead of Publishing the visibility, you would instead datalinq to the xml file the ...

What you are trying to implement is there. There are a couple of ways to do this, the simpler way to do this would be to datalinq every field in the sequencer mode and set the row to %relid% (you should be able to right click and go to formula to insert relid as well). What that does is it sets the row ...

I am having trouble getting audio out of the Xpression when it is in tile mapping mode. Has anyone ran into this issue before or have a solution for it?

My concern is that different formations exist. You could go from a 4-4-2 to a 4-5-1 or just a whole litany of other formations. A Left Forward or a Right Forward would line up differently based on rather or not there a cent Forward. The same with the defense. You could also have a pair of defensive mids ...

IS there a way to dtalinw the position of a text field? I am trying to build a starting line up graphic for soccer where there are hundreds of different possible formations. The idea is that instead of making every possible location and driving there visibility on the fly via datalinq, I want to make ...

You are write on the Xpression reading Excel files but XML is the way to go with the dashboard. There should be some video tutorials about bringing in the xml on here some where. #DashBoard
