Ah, thanks much James, those worked. So according to WireShark packet diagnostics, the CRLF characters were not being automatically appended, but your suggestion resolved that problem. #DashBoard

Testing something out using DashBoard to send UDP to another device. The packets are sent, but there does not appear to be any sort of terminators on it like . Any advice? If I use Send UDP as Bytes and append 0d 0a to the end it works, but I want to avoid having to rely on hexadecimal encodi ...

One other quick question - I have a function that passes a string over telnet, but that string uses triangle brackets within it. Is there an easy way to escape these out so that Dashboard doesn't replace automatically with ASCII codes? #DashBoard

Excellent - thank you! I changed the widget hint manually to that and it works - this is very helpful. Much appreciated. #DashBoard

James, thank you for the reply. I've been experimenting with using a conditional check on a text entry field to allow a command to proceed, which seems to be working too. I've made the text entry field very narrow and transparent so the password isn't visible; is there a way to hash out the entry? ...

I was curious if there was a way to have a certain panel on the Ultritouch grid protected by a password - this particular panel would be used to reboot production servers, and we don't want anyone accidentally doing so. Can it be done? To clarify, I don't mean the unit itself. I just want a password-protected ...

Neat trick, thanks! I got it to work. I'll try adding IP addresses tomorrow. #DashBoard

James, thanks for getting back to me. You’re pretty much right on - it’s a .grid on two different ultritouch panels. I’d like to have one .grid template on both, but each of them should be receiving their label parameter from the name of the panel it’s on. IP address would be neat too. I realize ...

I have two ultritouch panels, which both have the same template file uploaded to them. However, I would like each template to reflect the name of the panel it's on dynamically, so that it populates when opened on the Ultritouch. I know I can grab the device name via the config settings of the device, ...

Hey James, I put both files in the same location, zipped them up and uploaded to the panel, and it looks like it's working. Thanks for the tip! #DashBoard

Thanks James - but I can't seem to upload images. Do I have to zip up all the files? #DashBoard

I'm trying to get a local image file to appear on my Ultritouch panel. I've tried combining it all into a ZIP file and even using an external URL to access it, but the panel itself doesn't show it. I've managed to get it in DashBoard. Any tips on this?

For sure. I already got the conditional working beautifully. Thanks again for the tip. This opens up a LOT of options. #DashBoard

So I can use Perform Cut to cut video sources and keys on and off, but is there a way to SET it rather than just toggle? Like a conditional that can sense the status of a key? For example, I want to create a button that will set up certain video sources into destinations, and then put them on ...

I can perform cuts and transitions with various keyers on ME buses, but can I change the video source for the keyer itself?

James, Thank you for your help. Chyron uses telnet on port 23. It works now. Thank you. lol #DashBoard

Well, the Telnet connections aren't blocked, so it kinda has to be the OS level as it doesn't even make it to Chyron - diagnostic logs don't show any input or output at all, so it's not even making it that far. #DashBoard

That's very cool, and it's not Dashboard - data is being sent for sure, and it's arriving on this box as expected. There has to be some sort of exception coming from the Chyron even though the firewall is turned off. #DashBoard
