I put a logo onto the screen. When we test it manually and take it off line, everything works fine. When we use the automation gateway to take the scene off line, a graphic shaped black spot in still visible. How can this be? (It is an HD project, amidst HD projects, but normally HD works ...

Well I was sent the Help file by another user but it also only tells you how to throw blocks around and connect them and so on. The simple stuff. I REALLY need explanations of the more complex blocks. High time for a Visual Logic Reference Guide. #XPression

Thanks dford. It absolutely is due to having the movies on a scene director AND assigned. My trick would be a Visual Logic to semi-random change visibility. It would be better if visual logic could switch the used movie without assigning them all. Is that possible? So have them in the material manager ...

>>>>> First thing you need to know: the XPression looks the wrong way! From the lowest layer and then upwards! This explained 99% of my authoring problems. No need to mess with Z values if you use flat objects only, if you understand it looks from below to the upper line in the object manager! ...

Someone gave me the 7 Encoder. That works a lot better. For now, the issue is solved. #XPression

dberry I made a screenshot of the OLDER project with 7 movies of 4:4:4 quality placed upon unused materials. Two were converted to 4:1:1 and used on screen. So it is lighter than before but still heavy enough to make things bleep. Not 1100% but stil 130% or more. I must add, this is a designer station ...

Thanks dberry, I found those videos before but still nice of you to post them again. Thanks garner. There are some problems: I do know the simple things as mentioned in the User Guide. I need the explanation of the building blocks! Alas, I have the 6.2 version in which the help file has no visual ...

I understand half of the visual logic just by instinct. But half of it remains a mystery. Where is the reference guide to visual logic? I got problems, keeping a text box within a certain size. I can fix the width in the standard interface but I can't limit the height. I hope visual logic can help ...

Okay I had 6 movies in the project and wanted to pick one at random each time. It seems the XPression even suffers when movies aren't played! So if a movie is a material, then having it in the material tab will immediately slow down the XPression. Can I use visual logic to pick a random number and ...

My latest project pushes the meter to 1100%! I can't understand what is wrong. Playback is choppy. The prepare time takes many seconds. I only use two short movies in 4:4:2 XPression codec. Maybe I need to lower the quality to 4:1:1. What causes realtime problems for the XPression? Any ideas?

My encoder refused to be set lower than 4:4:4. And the codec could not be used in After Effects either. Someone gave me the 7 version. That works better. But my initial problem still remains: the XPression bleeps and prepares very long before playing. Something is wrong and I can't find it. #XPress ...

Hello, my 6.2 XPression Video Coder is buggy. I need to convert video asap as the project is too heavy for the XPression to use uncompressed QT. Can someone help me out NOW? My login doesn't work!

If you have another down day, here is the project. A crawl that stops with ease when the logo appears. It will wait forever until you hit numeric enter. At high speeds it will fly off screen. However, when you crawl somewhat slower, you need to press numeric enter lots of times to get rid of the logo. ...

I still don't have this in my 6.2 help although I have Visual Logic. Does any one else experience XPression Rage when you fire it up? #XPression

MaiSanMia: I can't find "Help->What's This->Visual Logic Editor". I would be great to know where that is. Redmile: I don't understand a thing of the example you tell me to look at. #XPression

HELP: It would be nice if anyone could explain why the behavior of the last crawl scene seems to be random? #XPression

You speak in riddles. Scene 1 triggers scene 2: how and why? Call Scene Directors with Visual Logic: how and why? Then I lose you completely. I am probably too stupid for this. Try moron speak. I find the XPression highly illogical. #XPression

NOTE: You MUST have at least two scenes for a logo hold at the end: crawl text in scene1 and logo in scene2. Put spaces preceding the logo in scene2 so it sits in the middle of the screen. NOTE: I MUST experiment with the number of Ease Out frames in combination with the scroll speed to ensure ...
