Brian, thank you very much for the information. The problem seems to be more elemental than playback options. I tried the free run/auto start but it will not play when taken on air. I noticed that in the material properties window, I get "none" in the RGB and alpha preview (are these preview areas?) ...

I installed quicktime and can now bring in .mov files as new materials, but when I add the video material to a new quad object, I can't find any way to preview the video or get the video to play. I am using Xpression designer version 2.60. Any assistance would be much appreciated.
