I would like to enable Acuity to send TCP commands to displays I have. Can the Acuity send ASCII or HEX commands over TCP to a specific IP and port on the network?

I have had success with the Comtrol boxes and a dashboard file that translates the commands over IP. #Carbonite

One more question. Do you know what "character set" the serial messages are sent in? i.e. UTF-8, UTF-16, windows-65001? I have one playback device that I'm having trouble getting to respond and it requires that I specify. #Carbonite

It was the cables, I had to check the pinout of the comtrol and match it up correctly to the serial port on the Kona 3G card. #Carbonite

ok, i will check out the debug window. I was also just trying to use the big "play" and "stop" buttons in dashboard. Do they not function as stand alone buttons without the carbonite rosstalk GPO commands? #Carbonite

Thanks for the follow up Les. I downloaded the beta 7 version of dashboard and your file loaded correctly. I think I have it setup right, you configure the carbonite like it's talking to a xpression over rosstalk using the IP of the computer that's hosting the dashboard file correct? Is ...

Les, I have zero DashBoard Grid experience when I open the file I just get several "null" spaces. Could you maybe provide a little more guidance? #Carbonite

Is anyone aware of a device that will take control signals form a carbonite i.e. GPO, rosstalk, etc and convert it to sony BVW control. I know it's a dated, limited protocol but it's often a simple "lowest common denominator" for control of playback devices.
