Would somebody be able to send me some short example scripts on how to use the TakeItem and Datalinq objects? -I'd like to trigger scenes using the take item # in the sequence editor from another scene. -And I'd like to modify the source and row of Datalinq sources. Thanks!

Squeezing newscast graphics for additional tickers?

My station is looking at adding additional tickers to our newscast. Our graphic package fits into the HD action safe. The idea would be to shrink our newscast graphics if these tickers are punched up. I'm thinking that we'd need to utilize one Xpression machine for the tickers and the other for the newscast. ...

No way from now directly into visual logic. What you can do is to create an hidden textobject with only a line return on it. Then replace " " by this textobect>text... Clever. I like it! #XPression

Is it possible to do a line break in the logic editor? The data coming is either 1 or 2 words. If it's two words, I'd like to replace the space with a line break. I've tried inserting the strings "vbCrLf", "/n", and chr(13) but with no luck. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Missing Fonts?

I installed the HelveticaNeue Family of Fonts (50 of them). When I select the font in Xpressions I only see 3 options. Bold Italic Expand, Bold Italic Condenced, and Medium Expanded. Why aren't the rest of the fonts showing up?

When converting 30fps files to 60fps, the video plays back 2x the speed and half the length. Is it possible to convert 30fps without changing the speed/length?

It's Xpressions Studio v5.5 2722. We're running on a Mac laptop running windows 7. I can't seem figure out how to right click to run as administrator. Does the fact that Xpressions starts up mean that the dongle is being read? Or should it run but have limited features or something like that? ...

It's on Poll every 5 seconds. And I was wrong about the problem staying fixed. Even though the XML is getting replaced, datalinq is still reading old information. EDIT: We tracked the problem down to a single name with an odd character #XPression
