We had the same problem on our SD installation, we are planning an HD upgrade soon but in the meantime we found a solution by using a Decimator 2 HD-SDI to HDMI converter which has inbuilt anamorphic ability which gave us full screen 16:9 uncropped multi-viewer images on our screen.
