Here is what I am trying to do: I want my producers who sit in on broadcasts to be able to copy chat questions from an online video conference software, and be able to paste them into a file. Then, when they save the file, I have an immediate new CG title card that contains the text from the chat ...

@ChaseGatyas Thanks Chase. I know that seems like a basic start, but I feel like sometimes I do not find what I need in the Ross manuals. But thank you for the link! #XPression

Having trouble playing back certain videos in BlackStorm, using buttons on a Custom Panel. The only thing I can derive is that the filename is too long, and is breaking the button commands. When I re-render the files with a shorter name, they seem to play correctly. Is this normal? What is the character-length ...

Thanks, James. I'm trying to automate creation of our button panels, so that we may create them quickly and easily. We use these often as button panels to drive XPression gfx to run Jeopardy-like game shows in our broadcasts. I'd like to set up an easy way to enter button names (Jeopardy question categories, ...

What is the syntax to use to put variable names in lines of code? For example, how do I use the "butName" variable's value, instead of "Click Me" in my button task code? var butName = "Click Me Var"; "Click Me" style="style:DefaultStyle;" top="105" width="195"> #DashBoard

Ok, I see. thanks. This is working now. Now I need to think about a button-click function that will: - check status of "isButtonSelected" globally across my whole button grid - if so, turn it back to default - change currently selected button to the "selectedButton" state - change whatever ...

James, thanks for the reply. Tried a few things, but still not getting any change to happen when I click on the button. Here is my code for a single button: rosstalk.sendMessage('1.1.1.1', 7788, 'TAKE 1001:0:0'); function selectButton('1000') ( //Set button to selected ...

Hi. What is the syntax to use variables for style attributes for custom panel buttons? For example, here is a line of code after manually making style choices: What I want to do is make button background colors different, if they are the active button. So in the above code, bg#063A71 is my button ...

I have made a custom panel to control a Jeopardy-like game show running on an XPression box. Basically, a 25-box grid, that GFX Op pushes buttons as broadcast members select category-value pairs. This works very well. But, I want to add a second grid of buttons on the same panel, and am having trouble ...

I have a GFX that has a couple of Pause events built in, using the Scene Director. I would like an audio file to play when the comp is triggered, but I want it to play on through the pauses in the sequence. Is there a way to make my audio clip ignore the Pause events, and play in its entirety?

Hello, How can I make a line break in the text on my button (Button Name)? For example, by default, when I name my button, it shows up as: MEMORY LANE $300 But I'd like it to look like this, so it will fit better into the button space: MEMORY LANE $300 ...

Trying to use a variable (layerNum) to send XPression graphics to screen with a RossTalk command in DashBoard, when a button in a custom panel is clicked. I need these graphics to go to the top-most layer of the framebuffer. Code looks like this: var [layerNum] = [20]; function callb ...

Ok, my problem seems to be simply using the variable in a RossTalk command. I apparently do not know the correct syntax to do this. Managed to get a debug printout in the callback function area of a button, so I can actually see the value of my variable being traced out in debug. Just can't seem to be ...
