Thanks Jeff, just to follow up, I did end up utilizing this technique and it has worked perfectly. The other approach suggested was problematic as the second scene director I set up with the loop wasn't playing out from the sequencer, only the 'main' director. ------------------------------ Willie ...

I have been asked to make a L3 element for an NHL team in which they can display different types of numerical information such as: Max Skate Speed (MPH) Time on Ice Distance Skated Puck Possession Etc, Etc They want the display to start at a zero value that counts up to the final value ...

Hi Jeff - that's an interesting idea, good to know those CA functions are accessible in VL, thanks! ------------------------------ Willie Frazier CAKE STUDIOS, LLC ------------------------------

Right - that is essentially what I ended up doing, sorry I didn't make that more clear. Thanks! ------------------------------ Willie Frazier CAKE STUDIOS, LLC ------------------------------

Hi Roma, Thank you for your reply. Interesting that you suggested that. Last night after I wrote this and went to bed I had a very similar idea. It does work - but not in the way I need it to exactly. You see, this is meant to be a living hold element, the chrome shine gently moving for however ...

Hey everyone, It's been awhile since I posted and a while since I used XPression (I've been working as a Viz Artist, don't hate me)... I am doing a project now in which I need to replicate the After Effects file of another designer. He used a screened animated noise to create a sort of shiny living ...

I feel like I have done this before, but cannot seem to remember exactly how... If I have a project that is at 1080, but I need a couple of templates in that project to be at a different size / aspect ratio, how do I make it so? (Using version 7)

I really think you're over complicating it. You have 16 teams... make 10x10 little swatches of each team's primary color, put them in a folder within your images folder and use the method I laid out earlier today. You could even make swatches of the secondary colors and have a little conditional VL to ...

And full disclosure, my scripting skills are not all that strong, this was built with the help of one of Ross' own. #XPression

I would so this with a folder of team color swatches and a volatile texture script tied to your datalinq keys. Here's an example from my most recent project, in this case we are pulling from a folder of player image mattes, but the approach is the same: 'IMG SET SCRIPTS dim Keys ...

Well, I do know that the virtual output is not a 100% effective test of a scene. You never really know how a thing looks or performs until it is on a proper hardware output. This is problematic for me, as we only have Virtual Outs in house. So, it could be, as you surmise as simple as a product of that ...

I've made loads of these, albeit for NFL teams using GSIS, but in those, I use datalinq keys, allowing the operator to enter in the appropriate categories for a given player. I also have a Visual Logic setup to display between 2-5 stats, as some positions have more statistical categories of note than ...

I see. I've never used that panel, though its possible the operators I make stuff for do. By default with pause points, if you hit the Period key to cue up the scene, and then hit the Enter key to take the scene, once the pause point has been reached, simply hitting Enter again will advance it to the ...

I don't see an option for 'Wait for Key' in my director event settings, but then I am currently on 7.3, so maybe this is an Version 8 thing? #XPression

Also, definitely be careful when using different versions. Older stuff will always open on newer versions without issue, but going the opposite direction can be VERY problematic. So, make sure all of your 'creation' is done on 7 until you have parity. #XPression

It sounds like maybe you want to do a pause / continue type of deal? If so, when you right click on a track in your scene director you can choose Add Clip -> Event -> Pause. You can drag it around to be in the exact position you want, and if you double click on it, a settings panel will pop up with numerous ...

While I have not done this with a box, I have many times had to keep a piece of text with wordwrap centered within a box, so the idea here should be similar. Basically, you DO want the Bounding Box Height Scaled node to be feeding the Y position node of the box, but you will need to put a ...
