Hi Sorin, Unfortunately there's no way in OverDrive to do this today. The only reason it works with normal take-prep is as the error describes, the switcher is mid-transition. So for those 10-20 frames or however long your switcher action is, you can't really do another switcher action because the ...

Hello Burkhard, Targeting a Project will show you projects rather than media or assets. When you click on the project, it will filter the list on the left to just that project. This is particularly helpful when you have a lot of projects, and need to quickly filter down to projects that may mean something ...

You should be able to see the key in the plugin. It looks like this: There is a "key" icon right next to the created Datalinq Key items. Chris #Inception

Hi Hunter, Datalinq is licensed per engine, whether it's a playout engine or a preview render engine. You can use use Datalinq Keys in your scenes. But you will not see them in the plugin preview unless Datalinq is licensed for the Gateway/Preview Render engine. But if you type a Datalinq Key ...

With all relatives, put either MLE on the Bkgd bus of your PGM/PST MLE. It doesn't matter which. When you're recording the relative, any button (or function) you choose in that MLE that's on air is recorded as relative. So if MLE1 is on-air, select MLE1 in the Run Sequence function. #OverDrive

Hi Amy, What version are you on again? There's a function inside Insert Special that is Run Sequence. That allows you to run a sequence on an MLE without selecting the sequence button and auto trans on the panel. It just runs whatever is loaded on a particular keyer of an MLE. So when recording ...

Files need to be no larger than 80x60, so is it possible they're bigger? #OverDrive

Are you hitting the Refresh button in the icon window of template editor? I usually have to do that before anything new will show up. #OverDrive

In addition to what Brian said, you can also use in File > Scripts > Export Layers to Files. You can choose your different flavors of files, like TGA and PNG, and whether or not to include transparency or not. I've used it many times, and it has worked beautifully. You DO have to make sure that ...

Hi Richie, The way I've done this in the past is to put everything you want to preview into a group, and name the group something like "Preview". Turn the visibility eyeball off. Then in the OnPreviewRender call, put something like: Dim Preview as xpBaseObject Self.GetOb ...

Fundamentally it's not that much different. Just a little cleaner. One thing I have done with other CG systems *cough cough* like XPression is put a pause at the beginning of the animation. Then I put the CG line BEFORE the camera item. Then on the Camera template, I put a CG resume custom as ...

Correct, though you may need some frames of delay for the next template properly recall. Just be careful with this, because if the OTS is dropped, or deleted, it's taking the next element in the rundown come hell or high water. #OverDrive

This would be ideal for Manual operation, not so much for Overdrive. It would just be a simple UI that you could build specifically for elections. It could be a simple button panel with all of the races named, and you just find the button and go. #XPression

Dan, just an FYI... If you want to go completely nuts with this, you can build a custom application in Dashboard Panel Builder and adjust the datalinq keys from anywhere Dashboard is connected. If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me. #XPression

I love it when the competition helps each other. :) Couple of notes, Dan. Datalinq Keys works great, but you need to make sure that the race number is listed as an attribute and not an element in the XML structure. Also, how often is Newsroom Solutions updating your XML file? Once a minute? Or ...

Hi Amy, I'm late to the party here, so sorry. Overdrive DVE handling is permanently "fixed" in your version of software. The original intent was to avoid having users "run out of resources" between shots. In very recent editions (I believe v12 of Overdrive and v16 of the switcher, but I'd need ...

Hi Aaron, Do you have any scripting going on in your existing template? I ask because what it should do is animate from the beginning every time you take a new template. I suspect there is scripting in there to change that behavior. Chris #XPression

Do you anticipate calling this up, and then animating in any order. Or will you know within a few minutes of when you take it? #XPression

Hi Amy, Not sure why it's doing that, sounds like a development question. However, maybe try making those quick recalls "Set Crosspoint" templates (with the appropriate Viz channel selected) rather than the device specific version. Has anything changed with the system recently? Chris ...
