Thank you Les for letting me know there is a possibility to build a custom panel. I tried to do that a few days ago, without much succes. I will try again. Hopefully I will find a way to send confirmation via RossTalk also, or through any other means. If I won't succeed, I will open a ticket. Thanks ...

So, I did some further testing and that RossTalk command does not recall memory 0. Instead, I suspect that it tries (and succeeds) to initialize all the settings, no matter if the set contains only the memories. While the DashBoard menu sends selective load commands. I will try to re-create the commands ...

Thanks for the suggestion Les. I will modify memory 0 to activate a key on an unused ME to make sure that indeed the RossTalk command recalls memory 0. If that's the case, I will duplicate memory 0 to a different number and change all necessary templates to recall the new memory. Then I will modify ...

Thank you Michael, I'm beginning to understand the idea behind this variable thing. The only problem is that I'm not that technically savvy to create those things in DashBoard. Also we do not use buttons on Overdrive to recall boxes, we have shots for that. So I would have to add to each shot a CC ...

That's exactly what I did. I created two empty folders on the USB drive, test1 and test2. I saved only the memories on each of them. Recalling those two sets with the mouse via DashBoard works with no issues. Loading them via the RossTalk command also works but it runs memory 0 on load, and memory ...

Hi Les, thanks for replying! Unfortunately, the only viable way to answer the producers request is by finding a way to use two different memory sets. They specifically asked me to make it possible to change it back and forth mid show. Having two sets of automated templates is impossible, since our ...

Hello all, I work with a Carbonite Ultra (v 9.2.2) and our producers requested to have a new set of boxes built, equivalent to the current ones, but with different sizes and proportions, and to be able to switch between them at any given moment without affecting the templates and scenes from Overdrive. ...

Thank you, Louis, I will try your advice on Monday when I get back to work. I don't remember exactly how I made that shot. I think I created a non ME template in Overdrive, just to be able to recall a custom control (that custom control simply recalling an ultra scene) and then I added 6 additional ...

Hey Les! Thanks for your reply. I did build a scene using AUXs as sources, but it behaves rather weirdly when I try to add it to OverDrive as a template. One of the reasons is that OverDrive doesn't see any Scene as a selectable source. And recalling it via a memory empties the sources sent to the ...

I use scenes mainly for +4 boxes, since I use a Carbonite ultra with 4 keys MEs. But the main appeal is having them as a single source on the pgm bus, rather than an ME plus keys. The main drawback is that i fiind it quite tedious to change sources inside scenes (using touchdrive dashboard and the ...

Hi Guillaume, Since you also run Caprica you could try to create a custom control that recalls that memory with Preview Relative as destination. Then add that custom control on the Overdrive template, and set it to run when Prepared with a short delay (10 frames or whatever Overdrive requires to ...

Thank you, Chris, for your reply. Just to add some small details: the TD selected a CG to play, while obviously having another shot prepared, and when he pressed Space he accidentally pressed twice, just 80 milliseconds apart, and the Overdrive played the CG element but it also advanced the rundown. ...

Ok, in case anyone has the same problem, I found a workaround: I have enable Bounce Keys in Windows, which prevents double press of a key, and set it to 0.3 seconds. Hopefully this will prevent unwanted incidents. But it would be nice to have this as an option in Overdrive. Thank you ----------- ...

Hello everyone! Is there a way to add a safety measure when manually playing CG elements inside Overdrive, to prevent accidental double space and advancing the Rundown? Normal take/prepare transitions have this: if I press double space there will be a warning saying another transition is taking ...

Hi Andrew, I've experienced the same issues with our Carbonite Ultra. It was solved doing an Ultra upgrade. My advice is to contact support and open a ticket, and they will recommend you a version compatible with your setup (if you also have Caprica or not) and guide you with the upgrade. ------ ...

Hello all, I have a question related to the internal clock of the Carbonite Ultra. I can find two clocks in the menus: one under Status/Power menu, and the other in Configuration/System/Global. The first one is in sync with our reference input. The second one can be edited manually. My issue is ...

Hi again Nick, So I did some testing and I could recall a scene with a memory, using my method, with Scenes as source on an ME bus. The only problem I faced is that Overdrive doesn't see any Scene in the list of sources, so I had to pass it through an Aux. But I haven't tried to set Ultra Scenes ...

Hi Nick, As far as I know you can save a scene as a memory. Just make sure you disable anything else, such as MEs or Keys in the store menu. You would than create a template in Template Editor that would recall that specific memory on a fixed ME. I haven't tried so far to set UltraScenes ...
