James, thanks so much for the guidance on this. I have it mostly working thanks to your code, but wanted to check on a couple things. I'm having to use a couple of free helper apps to get the MIDI notes from Dashboard to the mixer, and would like to avoid those. (for future readers, Dashboard buttons ...

Thanks for the help on this, I have confirmed that my audio mixer is receiving the MIDI CC on channel 0, so my follow up question is how do I connect the changes in values I make to channel 0? It may be a pretty basic question, but I'm new to MIDI and all the MIDI guides on the Web aren't helping. ...

Thanks- that helps, I'll check it out. Our Midas Pro-X is pretty basic on how it handles MIDI anyways. It will allow me to trigger a scene change if it receives MIDI, any MIDI, but not necessarily a smooth volume slider change. -Jay

I'm trying to get Dashboard to transmit a MIDI command through a PreSonus USB MIDI interface. I am stuck on actually getting Dashboard to transmit any MIDI code. Any advice on what I'm missing or need to look at? The PreSonus shows up as a MIDI controller in my Windows Device Manager, and Dashboard shows ...

quick follow up on the original question- is there a way to change the busmap in dashboard to show the panel? I tried your example, and it pulls up the softpanel like the image shows, but how can I get it to show the panel busmap instead? It's probably something simple I'm overlooking. Thanks! ...

Not sure if anyone else's wrestling conference makes us watch a TV monitor to update scores & timers like ours does (!) but here's a dashboard driven scorebug & wrestling package I made this year. Hope it helps someone. Dashboard: wrestlingcontrol.grid | Powered by Box Box remove prev ...

I'm trying to learn & use dashboard 9.12's visual logic and have hit a roadblock. I've looked at dashboard u, read through a bunch of forum messages but can't figure out what I'm missing. Full disclosure, coding isn't a strength of mine, but I'm pretty familiar with XPression visual logic so was hoping ...

We have the google drive app loaded on our Xpression Studio PC, and put our excel file in there. The Drive app lets google drive show up as a mounted drive, in our case G:\ Then we were able to share that excel .xlsx file with others to populate like a normal excel shared file Our ...

Hopefully this will help, one of our IT guys figured out that we could install the google drive app on the Xpression machine, and use a real Excel sheet with datalinq. Google drive apparently tricks excel into sharing with datalinq better than Microsoft intends :-) -Jay Cofield, ...

Thanks! I'll take a look at that & make sure the columns are formatted the same. My plan is to create an excel with our conference's team rosters, and let my student operator click a button in dashboard based on who we're playing. -Jay Cofield, Ph.D. Professor of Mass Communication ...

Is it possible to use Macros in the query example above? I'd like to use Dashboard to feed the table name to the team text object & also the Jersey text object. I think I'm missing something simple. Using @team@ by itself in the table works ok, but I'm trying to figure out how to get datalinq to pull ...

Richard, thanks for your advice- that worked out. I created a small canvas with the jersey choice embedded. I can share this with my students now. Always trying to stay one step ahead of them! Here's the page, probably one too many canvases but I shrunk the canvas with the actual keypad down ...

Thanks so much- I have dragged & dropped most a page before, I was hoping to avoid having to delete a number of items, but your video helps. Thanks much! -Jay ------------------------------ Jay Cofield University of Montevallo- Dept of Comm ------------------------------

I'm running dashboard 9.10, and have run into an issue dragging and dropping from donor panels. It's probably user error or something simple, but when I try to drag and drop from a working donor panel, the blank panel doesn't get the parameters or styles of certain buttons. For example, I can successfully ...

One thing our IT folks helped me figure out for excel sheets is to install the Google Drive app. It makes Drive appear as a mounted volume on the PC's, and helps get around some of the weirdness of trying to figure out what Excel setting we have to set for sharing, since Microsoft seems to change it ...

Thanks- yes, Ross Tech Support helped me figure out the ASCII data capture. It was a bit of a manual process figuring out the fields, start byte, length and that sort of thing, but I'm happy to share the scripts and datalinqs. Once they got that figured out, it worked pretty well. We had a bit of a display ...
