Hi Nick, Going from a Carbonite 24 to a Carbonite Ultra 60, you can either; (A) keep your existing input assignments and simply expand upward, or (B) redesign the entire input map to take full advantage of the Ultra 60's capacity. Keeping the old numbering offers a faster, low-impact migration and ...

Something that puts all the effort on the Caprica side instead of building in two different places is to use a RossTalk port. The message would look like - "XPT AUX:1:MS:5" If you want to use the clip player, you could send a RossTalk TypeInCommand to send the "CLIPLOAD" command to the Carbonite and ...

Hi Nate, Your expectation that OverDrive should be sending messages to prepare devices when a rundown is advanced is correct, so let's break it down a bit. If a device has been cued, but all the content has been ejected, the operator may need to recue those devices to re-load them. Otherwise the ...

Hi Rick, TriggerPlay is controlled via midi. Caprica connects to it by using the "SpotOn" type device, which also uses Midi. In the Port Configuration Summary table, double-click a REMOTE# port in the Port column. In the Configure REMOTE# panel, click Audio Server. Click SpotOn. ...

Hey Stephen, If you have the ENPS part figured out, here are the other steps. • Enable QuickCode - on the OverDrive Server, click on the Device menu, then enable QuickCode to decode the keywords stored in the QuickCode custom control columns of an NRCS rundown. (You'll need login/pass info) ...

Hi Nick, In Caprica, if you want a custom control to run as a transition instead of an event, just use ME Autotrans or ME Cut instead of Take and Prepare. The switcher sends the transition info back to OverDrive which advances the rundown. While Take and Prepare work for custom controls, if you're ...

Hi Martin, The MLS-X1 appears to be missing a button, found on earlier Sony switchers, that enables edit control from OverDrive. Because OverDrive is not receiving any indication of this status, it is connected, but reporting it as an issue because of this "no response" status. It looks like ...

Check the coding client, if you have one, or the redundant client. I hear you, hunting down those customs can be tedious. #OverDrive

You are correct. The red indicates that this custom is being referenced somewhere in the system. It could be in your Quick Recalls, your shots, your master rundowns, or your master templates. Sometimes, if you have a backup of your system, it is useful to recall a backup to see what that custom control ...

Overdrive can switch sources on PGM, such as camera shots for interviews. The solution would be to use custom controls that set those sources on PGM and then either place it on a shotbox, or in the custom control area of rundown control, and then keymap them to your number keys. This will get you where ...

It all depends on what you are trying to accomplish, but the manual is the starting point. Custom controls are a step sheet of instructions to perform repetitive actions precisely every time. What I generally have people do is write down what they want, and then write down the physical steps required ...

Hey Brian, just to make sure I'm reading this right, you want a crosspoint to have an automatic alternate fallback point or a rotating resource. Is this a device like a server channel or a camera? #OverDrive

Yes, you can utilize the timing fields in XPression to do automated cg playout, depending on your version of Overdrive. Your trainer will be able to cover this functionality should you choose to implement it. Operators can choose to cancel the timing across the rundown, per item, per story, and so forth. ...

The graphic elements you see in the rundown are graphic specific commands. When they are green, they are prepared on the cg, and when they are red, the are sent to the output of the Xpression. Usually, the graphic element comes before the Overdrive template, because without the graphic on the output, ...

Could be a couple of different methods. We can send triggers over UDP but there can be fader commands in the protocol, so typically we are doing preset calls over GPO. What hardware are you using currently to control the lighting? #OverDrive
